Why this site exists

Most tool round-ups answer the wrong question. They ask what is the best tool? when the question a creator actually has is what is the best tool for me, for the thing I am building right now?

Those are different questions with different answers. The newsletter platform that is perfect for someone whose newsletter is the business is often the wrong choice for someone whose list exists to sell a course. Same tools, same features, opposite recommendation.

CreatorStrata is built around that distinction. Every page we publish is trying to get you to a decision you can defend, not to a click.

The layers

"Strata" means layers. A creator business is assembled one layer at a time — tools, then the skills to use them, then systems, an audience, content, revenue, results. You do not need all of it on day one. You need the next layer.

The site is organised that way: categories map to layers, and each category has a starting guide, comparisons for the real decisions inside it, and tool pages with the detail.

How we make money

Some outbound links to tools are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the entire business model — no ads, no sponsored placements, no paid rankings.

What that model must never do is bend the recommendations. Our editorial policy sets out the rules we hold ourselves to, and our review methodology explains how we evaluate a tool in the first place.

Where we are now

We are starting deliberately narrow: email and newsletter tools. Covering one layer properly beats covering eight of them thinly, so other categories stay unpublished until the research behind them is real.
